The naturalistic approach to the meaning of life, although it can partially eliminate the crisis of meaninglessness that modern man is facing, is not very successful because it is not a comprehensive and complete approach and is silent about the place of man in the world. Therefore, it only provides partial and temporary solutions to the meaninglessness and absurdity problem with which we confront. On the other hand, the theistic approach is a new understanding of the question "What is the meaning of life?." From the point of view of theists, this question is the existential request of man to understand the ultimate meaning of life. This is not a question that cannot be answered or a wrong or incomplete answer is acceptable. This is the main demand of man from his life which has taken the form of a question. Therefore, from the point of view of theists, the question of the meaning of life is, in fact, the question of the place of man in the general scheme of the world. Theistic approaches are successful to a large extent in answering the same issues that the naturalistic view is silent about. These approaches can be classified into five categories. In this paper, we will examine these answers and their success in answering the question of meaningfulness or emptiness of life, and try to show the failure of the naturalistic perspective in making the human life meaningful and the merits of theistic perspective in this respect.
