Abstract
The dialogue between religions rests on the premise that the elements uniting people in terms of beliefs far outweigh those that divide them. Dialogue has the potential to reduce conflicts, misunderstandings, and biases among people of different cultures, religions, theologies, and worldviews. However, inter-religious dialogue must not only be methodical but also rest on a specific foundation to serve as a guiding framework. This article explores one of the key foundations of religious dialogue: theology. It offers a definition of dialogue and examines the role of theology within it, emphasizing that theology and dialogue are inseparable. Religions express themselves through dialogue, and theological voices are heard from various religious traditions. All dialogues in the Bible carry theological content, making the role of biblical texts crucial in dialogue processes. The theologian engages with the text, bringing it into the conversation. In this way, religious dialogue becomes a meeting place for theologians, who can transform the context of dialogue into a sacred space through their shared commitment and pursuit of truth.
